Sure Fire Recipe for Business Failure

by Rebel Jon on January 6, 2011

Last week I was attending my weekly Toastmaster meeting in the role of a speaker. I consider myself a very good speaker. I was off that day. A new Toastmaster won the Best Speaker. Did I worry?  Did I care?  No, I didn’t worry, but yes I did care. Regardless of where I speak, I owe my audience the very best.

It’s not a matter of having off days, we all have them.  It’s giving up and not trying at all.  THAT is a sure fire recipe for business failure. I push myself to do better.  Better at sales, better at customer service, better as a husband and father. Sometimes even our company staff wonder if my goals are achievable.  It’s easy to take a back seat and point out other people’s failures while we passively watch the world go by.  The successful person, the successful business will continue to push, to make mistakes.  It’s when we stop pushing forward, we fail.
